Open to the publicHotel Colorado is an operating hotel. The lobby and restaurant are open to the public, but guest floors, rooms and the basement require a reservation or staff permission.

Kathy Rippy Fleming, author of a 1995 book about the hotel, told the Post Independent that people still report cigar smoke at the front desk and a sweet perfume, and that a visiting group of investigators photographed orbs and what they described as a man's face in a mirror.
