The Brown Palace Hotel is a downtown Denver hotel at 321 17th Street, known for its stained-glass atrium, its Afternoon Tea service and the Ship Tavern, which has operated since 1934 1, 2, 3. Westword reported that during a renovation of the top two floors, the hotel switchboard received calls from Room 904, once the long-term residence of Denver society figure Louise Crawford Hill, after the room had been stripped of its furniture and telephones 3. The hotel has run seasonal ghost tours of the rooms it describes as its most haunted, and a staff member told Westword the tours fill quickly 3. Visitors commonly describe the Room 904 phone calls, a formally dressed woman seen on the upper floors, and faint music or voices near the atrium and the Ship Tavern.

Denver Westword1 account · Oct 23, 2008

Westword reported that while the hotel's top two floors were under renovation and a hotel historian was telling tour groups about former resident Louise Crawford Hill, the main switchboard began receiving calls from Room 904, which had been stripped of furniture, lighting, carpet and telephones. Operators said they heard only static, and the calls stopped after the historian dropped Hill's story from the tour.
