Hotel Monteleone is a family-owned hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans, open since 1886 and known for the rotating Carousel Bar that began turning in 1949 1, 2. The hotel describes itself as a keeper of stories, and its own list of nearby attractions includes two French Quarter ghost tours 1. Visitors commonly describe an elevator that moves between floors with no one aboard, lobby and restaurant doors opening on their own, children's voices and laughter in the upper hallways, and a small boy seen near the 14th floor.
