Hermann-Grima House is an 1831 Federal-style townhouse museum at 820 St. Louis Street in the New Orleans French Quarter, shown by guided tour and known for its working open-hearth kitchen, urban slave quarters and courtyard 1, 2. The museum runs seasonal exhibitions, including an October program alongside a Creole death and mourning tour at its sister house 3. Visitors commonly describe footsteps and doors moving on the upper floors, the smell of smoke or flowers with no source, and a sense of being watched in the courtyard and the slave quarters.
