Westword's 2014 appraisal of the park collected accounts of disembodied voices whispering and groaning near the site of the mass graves, and of a singing woman, vanishing children and formless shadows on the grounds after nightfall. The same piece described visitors and neighbors reporting feelings of grief and dread, and difficulty rising from the grass as though weighted down, and said the reports came from unverifiable online sources.
